Falaise, birthplace of William the Conqueror, is the cradle of the Anglo-Norman dynasty. Its castle, now restored, consists of two square 12th century keeps, emblems of the Norman power in France and England. The round tower was built in the 13th century by Philip Augustus, Normandy's new leader. An imposing outer wall with 15 towers protects the three keeps and the living quarters. Scenic audioguided tour of the keeps. Games fair on Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th of August 2009.
